A Creative Journey That Started With Curiosity
I have always been someone who enjoys creating things. Whether it was designing, organizing ideas, finding ways to communicate a message, or bringing a vision to life, creativity has always been a part of who I am.
For me, website design started in middle school and continued through high school. I remember building my first website on Expage. (I'm dating myself here, it was a free website platform from the 90s. For those of you not old enough to know that!) It was definitely a site to behold with quirky Flash animations, questionable design choices, and a fun distraction from schoolwork but I loved creating it.
What started as a fun creative outlet became something I continued returning to throughout my life.
Years later, I starting designing websites and marketing materials again but this time it was for my own business. In 2023, I built my online private practice website and have continued updating and improving it as my business has grown. Also, I created and maintain the website for my husband's home inspection and property management company.
Somewhere along the way, I realized something. I really enjoyed this work.
I enjoyed planning layouts, creating visuals, organizing information, and finding ways to help a business communicate what makes it unique.
And when I wasn't doing it... I actually missed it.
That realization became the beginning of Vibrant Pixel Creative.
More Than Design:
Understanding Small Business
Before creating websites as a professional, I spent more than 20 years working in the social work field. Throughout much of that time, I also gained experience in marketing, merchandising, brand representation, and helping organizations connect with the people they serve.
That combination of experiences shaped how I approach design.
A website is not just about colors, fonts, and images. It's about about understanding your audience, communicating your value, and creating something that feels authentic to your business.
My background as a therapist has also taught me the importance of listening, understanding people's goals, and helping them move forward in a way that feels right for them.
I bring that same approach to every project.
Built From Personal Experience
When I started my private practice, I quickly learned how overwhelming it can feel to build a professional online presence.
I searched for support with website design and marketing, but I quickly discovered that professional service could come with a very high price tag. Some quotes I received were as high as $10,000.
My reaction?
"If I had $10,000 for a website, I probably wouldn't be looking for help to create one."
As a small business owner, I understood the reality: budgets matter.
Most businesses are not starting with unlimited resources. They are building, investing carefully, and figuring things out along the way.
That experience became one of the reasons I created Vibrant Pixel Creative.
I wanted to provide professional design services while respecting that every business has different needs, goals, and budgets.
So, no, I won't pressure you into spending more than what you can afford with some phony promise of making you a millionaire.
